floor paint

I want to rip up my awful carpeting and paint the subflooring underneath till I can afford new carpeting. What kind of paint do I need for this job?

I'd opt for an oil-based floor enamel. Reduce the first coat 10% with thinner, lay it on thin. Second coat applied full strength, but also, thin as opposed to thickly. First coat will act as your primer, second coat for durability.

We've just converted the attic. I've painted the slanty walls, i.e. the roof white and it looks quite well. However I wished to paint the walls yellow but it's difficult to get a steady line between the white and yellow paint. we put masking tape down as a line but this removed the paint when we took it off. How do I get a definite line between the two colours when I paint? Thanks Britney

I live in Hawaii on the beach. I am re-decorating a one bedroom apt. I want to paint my walls. It is a square room and the four walls opposite each other. is one wall cement/brick and the other wall wood. I the cement/brick wall was painted white and the paint is cracking and the cement is visible. I want to paint this wall do I follow the same steps to prepping and painting ceramic tile? Do I scrape off whatever is peeling or cracking? I'm not sure what to do in order to get it ready for painting. help! thanks!
