How soon after putting up a deck can I treat the green treated lumber I used? Also, is there a product that will make the lumber appear shiny but not slippery?

One year is the standard waiting period. It takes that long for your lumber to dry out and be able to accept sealer or stain.

Check with Wolman, Olympic, Flood, or Thompson's. They are all good companies with good products.

it is suggested you wait 1-1 1/2 years before treating or staining new pressure treated lumber.

but olympic makes a deck stain which says on the can it can be used on new p.t. lumber.

i tried it with a customer, who understood it would be the 1st time i ever used it, and it covered great. and i never received a phone call notifying me of any problems.
