We have thin white wood paneling in our basement which is splitting at every section. This panel is so thin the wall is not flat because of the insulation.

What can I do to fix the problem (will drywall tape and mud work?)?
or
Can I hide the problem? (other then wall-paper)

thanks

some help
Hello
The only fix I would do is remove the panelling, sheetrock the walls this will make every thing fire safe and meet building codes. You may be able to go over the paneling and push in the insolation but if the insolation is that tight you are not getting full value from it, insolation should not be packet tight it will transfer hot and cold. R11 is good in 4" walls,R19 in 6" wall and so on check to see what you have......
