Hardwood Lumber Sizes

I have a woodworking plan that calls for hardwood lumber in the following sizes: 4/4, 5/4, and 10/4. What does this mean?

These are rough lumber dimensions. 4/4 is four quarters or one inch rough. Usually 4/4 finishes at 3/4 inch after planing, jointing. 10/4 would be 2.5 inches rough, and so on.
