Exclamation Lots of Noisy Hardwood

I have a house that's 4 years old. There's lots and lots of hardwood throughout. There are cracks between the boards, some the thickness of a credit card. This should minimize come summer, right? Anyhow, the floors are very noisy. Lots of snap, cracle, pop when walking on them. Does anyone have any experience with this? BTW, I believe the whole of it is floating. Thanks, everyone.

I see you live in the North East, were the humidity is very low in the winters. You should consider installing a humidifier for the winter month and only raise the humidity 20 point higher then the outside. What is happening is the humidity is so low in your house, it is taken the moisture out of every thing in your house that holds moisture. EG hardwoods, furniture, skin, etc. You will find this also helps the heating bills too.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my inquiry. I'll certainly invest in a humidifier come next winter... if this one ever ends.
