t1-11 fir siding vs. HardiPanel

I have t1-11 fir 4'x8' panel siding on my 23 year old house in the deep south. I am adding a garage and have the option of installing the similar look siding but using a material like HardiPanel cement board siding. If the cost is about the same but with less problems in the future, I would strongly consider going with the cement board panel.

I would like to get some advice from anyone with experience with this type of siding. Any advice would be welcome.

I like the T1-11, it is a proven product.

Cool

T1-11, if pressure-treated, will last a long while, but HardiPlank type concrete and fiber siding has a 50-year warranty.
If the cost is about the same, you also need to consider warranties between the two.
Your call.
Good Luck!
Mike
