Bathroom surround panels

I have a bath surround from the late 70's that needs to go. It is comprised of three flat panels that are surrounded on all four sides by metal edging. I want to do as little damage as possible and don't want to just rip. I am hoping there is a way to open the guides and slide the panels out.

Tap on the panels and listen for a hollow sound. There being none indicates that the panels are glued to the walls. This means that there will be some ripping involved.
