Do I Remove 1/4 Round When Painting?

I am refinishing a wood floor and painting the room. Is it best to remove the 1/4 round, paint it, and replace after the floors are done. Or is it better to leave them and paint as is?

If you can remove this fragile item without breaking it, it would be easier to paint it, then replace it. Touch it up from there.

I agree with chfite but if it is to hard to get up don't make more work for yourself. I also like it removed because it makes sanding and finishing the floor a little easier.
