Wall Paneling Removal

I have a older home that has dark wood paneling. I tested a piece and found that there was very good sheet rock behind it. I want to remove the paneling I don't want to paint over it or wall paper it, but there is heavy clue on the sheet rock. How do I get the clue off so that I can paint it? Or is there a different option out there?

Welcome to the forums

Removing the glue can be a real pain. Sometimes wetting it with paint thinner will help. It is quite likely that some will need to be scraped off and the drywall repaired.
