Removing paint drips from wood stained baseboards?

I recently moved into a house that has wood stained baseboards throughout. I couple of the rooms were VERY poorly painted, leaving many drips and smears on the wood stained baseboards. Does anyone have any suggestions for removing the paint but keeping the wood stain? I don't really want to remove the baseboards and refinish them.

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums

You might try a product like 'oops' or 'goof off' and see if it will disolve/remove the offending paint. Often GENTLY scraping off the paint drips/smears is the best solution. A light sanding and another coat of poly may be needed once you have the base clean.
