Not sure what vinyl paneling you are talking about. Got a brand name or link so we can see what you see?

it from Veranda and they sell it at home depot, so far i cant find anything on it but it comes in wainscot form and wont mold up like wood or sheetrock

Never used it but on basic information about vinyl paneling, is that it's just like comparing laminate wood flooring with hardwood flooring. Once it's scratched, it'll be hard to repair, whereas with any real wood, you can repair by sanding a scratch.

The positive side of vinyl paneling is that you can clean it with soap and water and it costs less.

Check for quality by looking at each sheet. Make sure there are no bubbles and check the edges of the sheet. If the vinyl goes beyond the edges of the sheet, the product was not made well.

If you can't find enough information on the product itself, don't buy it. Be sure to research what you should use to clean it with and perhaps any finishes you should put over the surface after installation.
