Trim around recessed windows?

I have a house that was built in 2006, and recently I've been considering adding some trim around my windows. I have the (relatively) thin aluminum windows, so they're all recessed into the wall by about 3" or so and have no trim around them at all. Is this sort of thing usually done? Can anyone provide a link to some pictures of windows like this with various amounts of trim?

Thanks!

I painted a lot of houses built like that when I lived in fla. They done in 3 different ways. The most common was to install a marble sill [sometimes tile], next was a wooden sill and occasionally there would be a house that trimmed the window out with wood. When done after the fact, many would just add casing and paint the casing and the drywall between it and the window with the trim paint - kind of made it appear as if it was all wood.
