WHEN BUILDING PARTITION WALLS IN A CAPE COD WITH 12/12 PITCH,SHOULD I USE 3 SEPARATE WALLS(2 WITH ANGLE AND ONE ACROSS THE MIDDLE ) OR ONE STRAIGHT ACROSS ON BOTTOM AND ONE ACROSS TOP WITH ANGLE ON BOTH SIDES? IS IT O.K. TO USE A COUPLE OF SHORTER 2X4'S BUTT TOGETHER FOR SOLE AND TOP PLATES OR DO I HAVE TO MAKE THEM 1 LONG SECTION ?

THANX, BILL

1st - Please DO NOT use all caps when posting!!! It is very hard to read!!!

Now... I am assuming that you want to build a wall to the ceiling, which happens to also be the rafters. Right?

Use full length 2x4's for your studs. The bottom plates can be butted, and need not be one-piece. Top plates can, at times be pieced. But a second plate needs to be used to tie it together.
