Question

An unusual question.
I will be enclosing a section of my front porch, after I install pressure treated plywood and outdoor carpet on the existing deck.
The enclosure plane I have made up is to use a storm door and two panes of tempered sheet glass surrounding the door frame.
I was originally planning to use painted 4X4 PT posts to make the frame for the door and windows, routing the posts to fit the glass and using quarter round to hold the glass in.

This will mean much joining of the 4X4s, including side to end joins and side to side.

Anyone have some experience, tips, or alternatives to assist me making sure this job comes out looking fairly professional?

Sounds like dado joinery. Maybe even a case for mortise and tenon if you so inclined.

Either way would be better than a plain butt joint.
