We just recently bought a house and the living room is done in a medium wood colored paneling. I am wanting to try painting over the paneling. Is this possible, and if so how?

Any help is appreciated!!!!

Jackie,
You certainly can paint your paneling. Whether it is actual wood or a plastic lamination on hardboard you should give it a coat of primer/sealer prior to your finish coat. This will seal actual wood resins from coming through your final coat or give the finish coat something to grab if it ia a lamination type paneling.
Paint away,
fred
