Wood Paneling

I am thinking about paneling a room that is currently covered by drywall. I have looked at a few pre-packed paneling options, all being very expensive. One I looked at was $55 for 14 sq feet. Do you have any ideas where, how I can get less expensive paneling that still looks good.

I assume you're talking about lumber in a package for paneling...

Go look for western red cedar, channel rustic cut. You can use the smooth side with the V groove or the rough side. I've used the smooth side, run it at a 45 degree angle for den walls on occasion. You're right in the land of western red cedar, they may have some more stuff they don't "export" east.

dont rule out solid wood , bulk options until you have priced them---- i am in OR and have found T&G Pine boards to be comparably priced to many of the "kits" of cedar or pine. it all seems to pepend on the look you like and the availablity of resources at any given time.
