PVC Building Materials

Sorry if this has been asked before or if this is the wrong place to ask. I tried to perform a search and was informed my search for "pvc" does not meet the 4 character length requirement for searches.

To my question. I have see things made out of sheets of pvc. Kind of like plywood but made of pvc. Where can I find this type of material? Home Depot? Lowes?

TIA!

jmartin104,
Both the the stores you mention are a couple of my favorite hangouts. I haven't seen pvc in a sheet form, and wouldn't even know what thickness would be available. I also visit another specialty store (plywood & pastics) and haven't noticed it there either. What kind of projects have you seen made out of sheet pvc. Or possibly, are you thinking of melamine fiberboard??

A friend of mine made a couple of shelves out of it. He bought the sheets at a specialty store in Orlando, FL. These shelves are so light, a child can pic them up. That's what fascinates me most - they are light and strong.

Cool

I've not seen PVC sheets, but I know that they're making molded corrugated vinyl bulkhead sheets now, so they must be making flat sheets somewhere.
One vinyl bulkhead manufacturer is located in Florida, but I don't know the name of the company.
If you find the source for PVC sheets, let us know.
Thanks.

HI,
I live in the northern part of Kentucky near Cincinnati, Oh
and I have a company I deal with that is called Tri-State Plastics.
They are listed in our yellow pages under Plastics, you might try in your area to see if you have a distrubitor or two around.
hope this might help you

Try a local boat repair supplier. They use this alot in the marine repair business. They make livewells, coolers and such out of it. I've seen it in some supply catalogs. McMaster-Carr for one, I know they have it. It' real prevalent in California.

jmartin104,
Thanks for the update, and you're right, it's a bit expensive.
Baltic birch plywod would be alot cheaper and probably easier to work with.
Too bad Corian and the look-a-likes aren't set at that price.
