pine siding
I have been replacing some pine siding on my house and have noticed that there is no cauking between the ends of the siding and the facer boards on corners and around dormers. There is tarred felt paper under the siding. I am concerned about water gettin in and rotting the under plywood siding, or facer boards. Should cauking be applied and if so are there any places it should not? I don't want to seal something that may cause a greater problem later.
thanks

Mark,
For siding, if I were using pine I would go with pressure-treated, AND/OR prime, seal and caulk it all, especially the ends that would tend to wick-up water.
Good luck!
