Jack locations for a windstar

Hello all. This may seem too basic a question, but i'm kind of stumped.. anyway, we have a '95 ford windstar and the jacking locations are 4 notches along the undercarriage in a strip of verical steel. There are 2 notches on each side, 1 rear and 1 front. The jack that comes with the car has a groove that fits over this steel ridge.

Question is: I have a 3-ton floor jack i'd much prefer to use when servicing, but it will bend that steel strip since it doesn't have a notch to fit around it. (I started to lift it... even tried a piece of soft wood on the jack surface - no luck.) Is there a way to make this work? i've called the autoparts stores around and was told there is no adapter sold.

Thanks for your help.

you can still use your floor jack under the lower control arms and usually at the inner subframe which is where the sheet metal is bent into a more rigid square shape.
