locating power steering fluid

My daughter has a 1988 Toyota Corolla. We are having trouble locating where the power steering fluid goes in this car. All replies are needed. Thanks Vivian

I don't recall on that particular model, but there are really only 2 possibilities - a reservoir incorporated as part of the pump or a seperate reservoir. Find the power steering pump if there is a cap of some sort that's the reservoir. If not there will be a hose running from the pump to a seperate reservoir normally mounted on the inside of one of the wheel wells under the hood.

Have a look in the owner's manual too, it will have the location and where to put it. If you have to add fluid, you have a leak, so have it checked out.

Also see the autolibrary link in my signature file below as well.

Thanks so much for the link that you advised me to check-it helped. What I found useful was the picture & Bingo, I found it, the power steering cap. The car was in dire need of the fluid and runs great again. Vivian

Once again, if you had to add fluid, there is a leak and it should be found and rectified.
