carb rebuild

When rebuiding a carb, what is the best way to get inner rubber parts out? Let them soak in a cleaning solution and let it eat them out then blow out really good? Thinking of seals and such like on fuel level adjustments.

Use a nice dull hook device and pick them out

If you let the carburetor cleaner get to them, they could turn to goo and be TOUGHER to get out .

Follow the instructions that come with the kit for proper rebuilding.

Joe, I see your point, but I was thinking if soaked long enough, the goo may be removed too. I had run some cleaner, actually break cleaner ( spray ) through it. May be why the rubber part on the fuel level adjuster tended to come apart. Plus, I had added a little alcohol to the gas to run from the tank to the fuel pump and on through the carb.
