Gas Gauge
!993 Plymouth Grand Voyager. Occasionally when the gas tank has a little less than half, the gas gauge light comes on indicating need for gas. As soon as I fill the tank the guage shows full even though it took less than 1/2 tank. It does this occasionally. I have shut off the engine when this occurred and restarted and the guage works fine again. Is this a Float problem or an electrical. Additionally can the float be located easily. Thankyou, Sincerely Alibaba

The float is inside the fuel tank and the tank must be dropped to service the float.
Could be a ground issue.

Hard to say for sure but could be a defective sending unit also. The fact that everything returns to normal with a cycling of the ignition leads me to believe that the gauge/low fuel indicator may be computer controled don't know without doing some research.
