96 Voyager Idle

96 Plymouth Voyager 185,000+ miles. Periodically will experience a violent shaking when stopped, idling. Turning off the vehicle and restarting will clear up the problem. Does not happen regularly or with any predictablility. Fuel pump and filter changed within last 7 months. A/C does not work properly - does not cool off. Fan works. Anything related? Any ideas?

Any trouble codes or Check Engine light?

When is the last time it has seen service?

No engine trouble lights. No indicator lights come on. No overheating. All vitals seem fine. Fuel pump and filter new @March. New water pump July. Oil changed every 3,000 miles. New brakes this past January.

Is this a 3.0 or a 3.3? Chances are it is a dirty throttle body. I'd try cleaning it or have it cleaned. You can use a bottle brush and intake cleaner. Remove the throttle body and clean it. Use a new gasket when reinstalling it. You might also have a mechanic clean the fuel injection system, but you should have your spark plugs replaced if you do as the injection cleaner will foul them. Good luck.

I agree. Also, remove the IAC motor and clean the pintle and seat.
