1997 Taurus Transmission
Fordtech, please tell me what "obd2" is? If the computer stays in "failure mode " would that cause the transmission to slip or not shift?
These may seem like stupid questions, but I'm a lady with very little money, who knows very little about cars.

OBDII = On Board Diagnostics, generation 2. Enhanced computer controls. Used from 1996 (in most cases) to the present.
Yes, trouble codes will cause the tranny to slip, it's electronicallly controlled. Use of a scanner is needed to properly clear OBDII codes after repair. Use the guidance given to you by me and others in replies to your original post.
