1997 Mazda 626



Help..... My 1997 Mazda 626 has had the Engine light on for 2 years it has been serviced by a Mazda mechanic and my local mechanic.... why is it still on?

If you mean the Check engine light (amber in color) that means there is emission system failure/issue.

A scanner is required to clear the codes and access why the light is on. Shame on both of your mechanics for not telling you about it.

Go to any Autozone store and they will scan the codes for free or ask the two mechanics to do it for you.
