Water pump question

Water pump question

I have a 1984 ford tempo with a 2.3 liter engine. my water pump went out and i have been changing it for the past two days. my problem is i dont know how to take off the metal radiator line from the pump? i have the pump loose but it wont come off the line, am i missing a clamp, bolt something? help i need my car for work.

There's a bolt that holds the coolant pipe to the back of the block & 2 studs or bolts that hold it to the oil pan.

Remove the above fasteners & give a good yank on the coolant pipe. It'll come out of the water pump & you'll get a nice antifreeze shower.

Make sure you install a new o-ring on the end of the coolant pipe before you install it on the new water pump.
