1995 T-bird A/C

Working on a 1995 Ford T bird. The A/C blows cold air, but sometimes after hitting a bump it quits blowing. By hitting the dash above the control unit, it comes back on. I notice there is a couple of slots on each side of the unit. Does Ford have a special tool to slide in these slots. Any idae what might be loose/broken. Thanks

Does this car have automatic climate control?

If so, remove the control head & inspect the connections for corrosion. You'll probably find them heavily corroded. It's a common problem.

If they're not corroded, examine the solder joints on the pc board of the a/c control head. Use a magnifying glass for best results. These things are known for cold solder joints.

BTW, the holes on the sides of the control head are for radio removal tools. Insert the tools into the holes & gently pull outward (toward the sides of the car) while simultaneously pulling the tools toward the rear of the car. The control head will pop right out.

Radio removal tools are available at any good parts store. You can also find them at Wal Mart.
