wheel covers

I have a 95 VW and it has the plastic wheelcovers on the wheels and the color is coming off the wheelcover like flaking. My question can you paint those maybe with spraypaint or what? Thanks for any help Steve

You might try some wheel paint from a local parts store, but the chances are it will flake off after time.

Cars like that with wheel covers are cheap and hokey. I never understood why car companies put those butt ugly hubcaps on supposedly "premium" cars.

you must use a "plastic primer" before you paint otherwise your paint will flake off quickly. With the primer it will be OK for ?. Maybe look into a nice used set of alloys from a local breaking yard eh?

Hope this helps-Josh
