Crankshaft Sensor in 91 Lumina Z34
#1

Are there any tricks to removing and replacing the crankshaft sensor in a 91 Chevy Lumina Z34 (DOHC 3.4L engine)? My Haynes manual is rather vague and just says to undo the bolt holding the sensor in place, remove the sensor and reverse the procedure to install the new sensor. The trouble is the sensor is located at an almost inaccessible spot. The original problem with car was it wouldn't start. All the other ignition components have been replaced. I'm pretty sure the crankshaft sensor is the culprit. Are special tools involved? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
