Axle Seal

91 Nissan NX2000
Engine 2.0 DOHC SR20DE
Manual Trans
Front wheel Drive
The leak is coming from the drivers side axle seal which would be the halfshaft. I changed the seal twice already, I used care not to damage the seal. So I know something else Is causing the seal to wear beacuse It takes a couple of days for the leak to start again after installing the new seal. So I'm wondering what else can cause the seal to wear? My axle appears to be fine, how can one realy tell?
Any Advice

Worn motor and tranny mounts could cause the engine to jerk around and wear a portion of the seal. Inspect the old one carefully for where it leaks.

Also, the area where the seal goes must be SPOTLESS so as not to nick the seal which will cause a leak.

A worn output shaft bearing or bushing will also cause the seal to leak.

Two possibilities. The surface of shaft could be worn undersize or seal could be 5 to 10 years stored on dealers shelf. Seals can leach out the plasticisor over time and shrink in the box. I would suggest adding a couple ounces of SealLube Seal Expander to restore the shrunken seal.
