Buying a 1973 45SE Merceeds

Hey Gang! I have an opportunity to buy a 1973 Merceeds 450SE Gas for $2,000. The body and interior are great. The engine runs rough. Anyone have an idea if this could be a good deal Thanks for any and all opinions.

First thing is to take it to a reputable shop ask them to have it thouroghly checked. The most important check is the compression test. Good luck. Keep me posted.

This car will be expensive to fix so make sure you are willing to spend money on repairs or the tools and books needed to do it yourself.

With something this old they will need a lot of TLC. OM is right, get it checked out. Likely worth a couple hundred bucks to bring it to an import specialist BEFORE you buy it and pay them to have it checked out. Then, deduct that from the selling price and work it out with the seller.

DO NOT buy it without having it checked out!
