Question spark plug wires light up in dark?

should I be able to see my spark plug wires light up in the dark when the car is running??? The reason I'm asking is because the car runs rough occasionally.....

You should not see any spark in the dark. It means that its bad, the electron flow are not all going to the spark plug. Change those spark plug wire with a good one. What car are we talking about?

Question spark plug wires light up

it's an '89 Cavalier, 2.0 litre. I see the light racing through the spark plug wires. I don't actually see sparks jumping from the spark plug itself. The wires could be 13 yrs old, I bought the car used, who knows if they have ever been changed. That is why I was wondering if it's normal to see light racing through the wires.

If they light up in the dark, they are bad. Or disconnected .
