Belt problem1985 Mercedes Benz 190E

I recently had the belt replaced. (Only one belt). It makes this terrible high pitched noise until the auto warms up. Oncethe auto is warm the noise quits. Each time I start the engine, when it hasn't set long, it make s the noise but subsides instantly. I bought a spray that is supposed to quiet new belts, but it hasn't.

Could there be another problem or does it just take time until the belt is a little worn?

the sound is your belt slipping. it needs tightening slightly.don,t overtighten as this puts extra strain on components.
if it still persists check that you have the correct spec belt at the shop.
good luck

It could be a poor quality belt or a problem with one of the accessories or tensioner (if it's of the serpentine type).
