here are my 2 cents

If it is white smoke it is water turnining to steam.Lots of cars due to condensation smoke when first started in the morning.
The question is does it continue to smoke? If it does you have a problem.Keep an eye on the water in the radiator and see if it goes down.If it continues to smoke when warm you might have a bad head gasket or other problems.

Pay attention to the smell and the longevity of the smoke. If it smells sweet, that is burning coolant, head gasket time as Mike said.
