battery light on the dash readouts

i need help with a 1991 honda civic dx 4 dr. 1.5 engine
the battery warning light came on and is constantly on after the alternator was replaced. the alternator is charging the battery correctly and the battery is taking the charge as it should ( for being 3 wks old) please advise in aby possibilties there are.
thanks

it is a genuine rebuilt honda alternator and i have narrowed it down to probably a short somewhere.
does this sound right?

Still sounds like a bad alternator and a stuck diode in the same. If it's not a Honda rebuilt alternator, trash it for one. Aftermarket replacements can be of VERY poor quality.
