backfiring Camaro

I have a 1988 Camaro (100k+) with a 2.8 litre. Whenever the engine temperature gets up to 220 it starts breaking up ie: backfiring, loss of power and stalling. it restarts easily but this happens again at around 1500 rpm and 20 mph until the engine cools. This problem came on suddenly as I was driving. I've changed the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap and O2 sensor after the problem started. Any suggestions on what may be wrong?
