1992 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1L - Air Conditioner Not Working Properly

My car's air condition/heater selector doesn't work on vent selections. It usually only blows out the windshield defrost port and below dash port. Sometimes on the AC Max setting the air will blow out the vents but when I start accelerating the vent air quits until I get to a stable speed or stop.

Is it the dashboard AC/Heater selector panel because it is a push button unit? Or, is a vacuum problem?

Please give some suggestions.

Thanks,

Don Vaughn

Sounds like a vacuum problem. Trace the vacuum supply line from the intake manifold to the heater controls. Inspect for cracks, leaks, etc.

Underhood leaks are more common than under dash leaks.
