Honda brake fluid

Joe- just read the post about Honda steering fluid--my daughter has a '99 Civic that is due for brake fluid change (41k) and the owners manual says any DOT3 fluid other than Honda's can cause corrosion and decrease life of the system. I was gonna change tomorrow and use an unopened can of NAPA DOT3 I have in the garage. Think I should wait and go to Honda?
Thanks, Chuck

You should use Honda fluids (especially PS and brake fluid). I've seen instances in which other fluids damaged some rubber seals.

Yes, only use their fluid or one that SPECIFICALLY says it meets the Honda spec.
