1993 Explorer-window - addl. info

The vehicle I mentioned before, as the window is falling, there is clicking coming from the door panel, and the chrome ring on the ignition switch on the column gets hot. Thanks again.

Have no idea why your chrome ring would get hot but it sounds like you either have a broken window regulator, bad motor or the gears and bushings in the window motor need to be replaced. The gears and bushings/spacers last on the average of about 8 years before they give problems. Looks like its time to pull the door apart. You can get a repair kit from Ford and others to rebuild the gear box for around $20.
Here's a good link for Explorer service tips.
