windshield (rubber around the windshield)

I have a Ford Aerostar that I need to replace the rubber around the front windshield. I want to do the replacement myself, but would like to get some advise if OK to do so. I need also to find out what other material I will need to fix this problem. There is no problem with the windshield itself, but the rubber around it is.

Thank you.

If you have never attempted this before, recommend you let a shop do it. They have tools and know how. Also if they break glass they pay, if you break glass you pay. They can be tough to R&R.

I agree with Darrell. This is a job for a pro.

If it's not done right, the crash integrity of the vehicle (of which the windshield is a part of) is compromised. Not worth it.

Many Fords require special tools to service the glass.
