1985 Suburban Choke Problem

I have an '85 1/2 ton 2wd Burb with a 350.(48,000 original miles) When I first start it it runs great but when I hit the gas to slow down the idle it doesn't want to stay running. This started last week as I came to a stop I saw choke light come on and then stalled. It starts right back up and runs with pedal down but that is it. I replaced fuel filter, cap and rotor, plugs and wires yesterday but still happens. I will take to a shop this weekend.
What can I expect they will do or find as well as a ballpark cost?

Thank you for any help you can provide!!

Likely a stuck choke or tired carburetor in need of a rebuild at this point.

Check the operation of the choke flap and choke pull off closely. A Haynes or Chilton book (free at the library) should have some guidance.
