1988 Dodge Caravan Fuel Pump

I have gone through 3 electric fuel pumps with in 1 year. Map sencer and relay as been replace. There is always power to pump, but will kick in when it feel like it. (1hr. 1 day, 2 days later) untill they burn out. Is this pump grounded ? If so where. Or is tank itself grounded ? I can not find a wire dieagram for this year, and dealer is of no help here.

A common problem is a bad fuel pump relay...so check that.

Also, if you are not using OEM (dealer) Chrysler pumps, your problem is there as well.

If the fuel pump relay is mounted on the left fender than it as been changed, brand new. The fuel pumps are after market, complete baffle, not just the pump.

Again, aftermarket fuel pumps on some applications are problem ridden and will fail like that.

Use a good quality OEM pump. It has been revised a few times from Chrysler since the original in 1988.
