Fuel filter removal problem

I'm having trouble removing a fuel filter from my '97 Pontiac Grand Am. One end is a flared steel connection that can be unbolted -that's easy.

The other end of the filter is a spring loaded plastic\steel quick connect. I've pushed, pulled, compressed, and twisted the connector, but it will not come off.

What am I doing wrong ?

thanks,

Chuck

I would say you need to go to the parts store and buy the fuel line disconnect tool. It's cheap and some of them fit several different sizes. That should get it off for you.

They can be a little stubborn though.

I would agree. What does autolibrary below have to say about it?
