Tachometer wiring

I'm wiring a tachometer for my '94 Toy Pickup 2.4L and I need to know where to wire the signal wire to. It says to wire to the negative side of the distributor, so is this just the black wire running into the distributor? Thanks for any advise.

Yes, but don't assume. Get a wiring diagram from the tach maker to be sure or call their tech line.

If they don't have one, pitch the tach and buy one from a real company
