help my shifter broke

i have a 91 plymouth sundance. its an automatic and the shifter broke today. any ideas of how to repair it. I hate taking it to the shop. thanks for any suggestions.

Did the shift lever itself break or did the cable break? If it is the cable you could possibly do it yourself using a manual such as Haynes Manuals or a Chilton Book.

I agree. If the shifter broke, get another unit from the junkyard and swap it into yours.

thanks for your suggestions

i fixed my shifter. The cable had popped out of the plastic groomet. the cable is bent and it will not go into park very well. I tried staightening it but i dont woant to break it. Is it ok to keep driving it and just use neutral when parking?

No. Park is for parking the vehicle, not neutral.

A new cable is cheap from Chrysler. Get a new cable and replace it.
