First oil change

I bought a new Honda Civic a few weeks ago and right now it has about 1000 miles on it. The question I have is should I change the oil and filter now, or should I wait until I hit 3000 miles? This car has an all alluminum engine, if it makes any difference.

CHANGE THE OIL

My logic says to go ahead and change it now. I do the same for new tires; first rotation at an earlier milage than recommended- Have not asked the manufacturer but they would probably disagree but I am sticking to my logic.

Nah. Change the oil at 3,000 miles or 3 months. No need to be more extreme than that.
