Chrysler 2.2L Turbo

Chrysler 2.2L Turbo
I have a 1988 Chrysler le baron premium convertable with over 123,000 miles on it, all original. Everything works on the car, all the windows, power top, computer monitoring center, digital dash etc. My question is concerning the poor gas mileage the car is getting. It is old, and an automatic convertable, but it is only averaging about 15-17 mpg. For a 2.2L Turbo it should be getting better mileage shouldn't it? I replaced the fluids and plugs and ran Lucas oil fuel system cleaner through it but it didn't help. Is this problem just due to it's age and being automatic? Could it be related to the turbo? The car is in great shape for it's age, cv joints are good, wheel bearings smooth, tranny shifts good, runs good etc. At idle sometimes the engines has a slight stumble or miss in it. It seems to do it more when hot like after a stretch of highway at 65mph then a stoplight. Any information would be appreciated as I know little about diagnosing car problems.

you might have codes checked on your computer, to see if any is stored in the computer, although the engine is likely tired with that many miles due to it being turbo charged they wear out rather quickly.
