ford door ajar lite on
My 1999 Ford F250 has just developed a problem with the door ajar light. It is on continuously. Consequently the interior light comes on every time I come t a stop. I have gone around the truck shutting doors untill i am tired. There doesn't appear to be any switch on the door, so I am at a loss. This is driving me nuts. I don't even know how it works let alone fixing the problem. Any Ford Mechs with some suggestions? There is nothing so confusing as an auto electrical system.

Take it back to Ford for a free repair under warranty, even if you are over in mileage. They will probably handle it in a jiffy.
As I recall, there are a lot of gazorches with Ford and those blasted ajar lamps and bing bing bing buzzers. Usually the switch sticks...might be controlled by the GEM module on something this new.
Again, I'd let the dealer handle it free of charge if it were me

Don, joe is right about the switches. It's an epidemic! Here's something from another post I found.
There is a switch in the door latch and it gets gummed up. Many people have a had good luck with spraying it with WD-40.
You can also go to www.google.com and plug in Ford Door Ajar for a search. You'll find a ton of posts on the problem.
