radiator leak 92 geo metro

The above was being driven on the highway when it was noticed overheating, gage ,steam etc. The rad was filled with water at that point and the vehicle driven home. I noticed that Prestone super stop leak and a container of radiator anifreeze has been purchased but not used and the car has been driven this morning
after having refilled the rad once again with water... I see its still leaking as there are spots on the driveway. How bad is this condition for the engine ? My son can't afford a new rad so will the " stop leak "hold for a while or should the rad be repaired?

No and it will cause more problems down the road.

A new radiator for this should be under 100 bucks and a snap to install as this is a very simple simon car. You can even buy a used radiator and have it boiled out and sealed by a radiator shop if need be...but you're approaching the cost of a new one! .
