92 Suburban electric window

Driver side window comes part-way up and then starts loud clicking. Helping it by hand gets it past that spot, only to repeat at another spot. Makes the same noise when window is all the way up.

Any ideas on what is wrong? Any tips on how to get the interior door covering off?

The window motor gear is stripped. Get a good quality reman motor. Buy AC Delco if possible as many remans are junk.

Check the URL below for door panel/window motor R&R procedures.

I don't care for the alot of the rebuilds either. You should be able to pick up a new motor at www.gmpartsdirect.com for about $85 plus shipping.

The plastic gear that runs the regulator (if so equipped on this model GM) could also be the culprit. Must come apart for a look....

I agree on using Delco rebuilts.
